Fostering advanced literacy, confident writing, early math calculations, and soft skills to ease the primary school transition.
Our Reception program is the final stage of early years education at Glowing Ages Academy. It is designed to act as a bridge into formal primary schooling. Here, we build upon phonics foundations to achieve independent reading fluency, structured sentence writing, basic math calculations, and collaborative project exploration.
In Reception, children start visiting our primary digital smart hub for early spatial logic activities, interactive maths puzzles, and basic computer controls, making them fully ready for primary education.
We guide students into advanced phonics blending, spelling common exception words, and writing complete sentences using correct capitalization, finger-spacing, and punctuation. Pupils engage in short reading books and share story summaries.
Mathematics instruction moves into basic operations. Pupils learn addition and subtraction concepts, simple problem solving with visual objects, counting up to 100, and understanding sizes, weights, and basic shapes.
Children visit the digital hub once a week, learning how to use mouse/keyboard controls, solve logical coding puzzles (scratch blocks), and participate in basic robotics demonstrations.
